Privacy at the Academy

World Media Academy Games is a reading site. You can open every guide without an account, a sign-up form or a comment box, so very little personal information ever reaches us. This page sets out what does, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Last updated: October 2026.

Who is responsible

The site is run by the World Media Academy Games editorial team. For anything related to privacy, including requests to use the rights listed below, write to hello@worldmediaacademy.com.

A static site with nothing extra attached

The pages are plain, pre-built files. There is no database of visitors behind them and no login. Specifically, you will find none of the following here:

  • visitor statistics, page counters or analytics software;
  • advertising networks, ad pixels or retargeting scripts;
  • social media plugins that report back to a platform;
  • tracking cookies, fingerprinting or similar techniques.

Your cookie choice

When you answer the cookie notice, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the notice does not reappear on every page. Nothing about it leaves your computer or phone. It is never sent to us, and you can remove it at any time by clearing the stored data for this site in your browser settings. More detail is on Cookie Settings Here.

The hosting company's short-lived records

A hosting company stores the files and sends them out whenever a page is opened. To send a page to your browser and to keep the service secure, the provider's servers briefly record technical data such as your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and your browser type. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting only, are kept for a short period and are then deleted. We do not combine them with any other information. We rely on legitimate interest as the legal basis: a site needs these logs to stay secure and dependable.

When you email us

An email to us brings along your address, any name you sign with and the contents of the message itself. Those details serve one purpose: replying to you. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you follow up, and then delete it. We never sell it, share it for marketing or add you to a mailing list. The contact form on our contact page simply opens your own email program; the site itself stores nothing you type.

Your rights

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with similar data protection law such as the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • find out which details about you we hold, with a copy on request;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • pause our handling of your details while a question is sorted out, or object to it altogether;
  • receive your data in a portable format where this applies;
  • take a complaint about us to the privacy watchdog where you live.

Any of these rights can be exercised by a short email to the address given earlier. Expect our response inside a month of your request.

Children

The site's gambling content is meant only for adults aged 18 and over. Nothing on the site is designed to gather details from minors.

Changes to this page

If the way the site works changes, for example if we ever added a feature that processes data, we would update this page first and change the date above. The rest of our ground rules are on Rules for Readers.
